Rev. Dr. Greg Salazar | Lead Pastor
Email: gregsalazar@christourkingmp.com
Greg was not raised in a Christian home but encountered Jesus in June 2002 after hearing the gospel at Young Life’s Malibu Club Camp. His passion for the Lord grew at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Go Tar Heels!) where he was a volunteer Young Life leader and Religious Studies major. Other formative experiences in college include living three years at “Mrs. D’s house” with other Young Life leaders; working as a volunteer at Young Life’s summer camps four summers in a row; and discovering the doctrines of grace through the sermons and writings of John Piper, Tim Keller, J.I. Packer, and James Montgomery Boice.
Following college, he was on staff for two and a half years at and The Falls Church, a historic (founded 1734) Reformed Anglican Church in Northern Virginia, first as a Falls Church Fellow, then Study Assistant to the Rev. Dr. John Yates, and over a summer stint as a pastoral intern during seminary. Over those years, he experienced deep discipleship and a rich community of friendships, which have continued through the years…
Skylar Giller | Worship Leader
Skylar Giller grew up in a Christian home in Black Mountain, North Carolina, where she came to know Christ at a young age and began serving on the worship team at Christ Community Church Montreat. Her father, who continues to serve as the church’s music director, has been her greatest mentor and role model in worship ministry. Through his example, Skylar developed a deep love for music and a desire to see worship draw people’s hearts and minds to the glory of Christ.
During middle school, Skylar began to make her faith her own and grew in her understanding of the Lord through worship. During her senior year of high school, she sensed God calling her to pursue worship ministry. She attended Wheaton College, earning a Bachelor of Music with Elective Studies in Biblical and Theological Studies, along with a certificate in Worship Arts. During her time at Wheaton, Skylar led the college chapel band for two years and attended College Church, where she also periodically served by leading worship. She was mentored by Rev. Dr. Donte Ford through Wheaton’s Worship Arts program and completed a semester internship in the worship and women’s ministry departments at Christ Church Chicago under Grammy Award-winning gospel artist Joe Pace and Women’s Ministry Director Marjorie Meeks.
Skylar is in her third year at Charlotte Christian School, where she serves as Fine Arts and Worship Coordinator, overseeing the daily administration of the Fine Arts Department and coordinating JK–12 worship programming. She also serves as part-time Worship Director at Christ Our King, leading Sunday worship and directing the worship band.
Outside of work and ministry, Skylar enjoys reading, solving crossword puzzles, taking long walks, and drinking a good cup of coffee. Skylar is married to Jediah, who is pursuing an MDiv at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and teaches Old Testament at Charlotte Christian. Together, they desire to see the worship of Christ Our King continually point people to the glory of Christ—who He is and what He has done for us.
Ariana Nelson | Administration

Hi! My name is Ariana Nelson, and I’m from Neenah, Wisconsin. In high school, I surrendered my life to the Lord while listening to a Sunday morning sermon in a small village in Zambia. That morning, the pastor shared the Gospel, and the Lord opened my heart to Himself.
I later attended Moody Bible Institute, where I graduated in December 2024, gaining more knowledge than I ever imagined—though I know I only scratched the surface of Scripture’s depth. Some of the most formative moments in my spiritual life were spent learning from professors and asking questions in and out of the classroom. I especially value learning through listening, conversation, and the insights of others.
At Moody, I met my wonderful husband, Thomas. We were married in January 2025 and moved to Charlotte shortly after, where he began seminary and I began working in events at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and friends, thrifting, exercising, traveling, and being outdoors.
