What We Believe
The Bible
We believe that God has spoken through the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, through the words of human authors and is without error in the original manuscripts. The Bible is the infallible, authoritative, and the ultimate authority in all matters of faith and practice. It is to be believed in all that it teaches, trusted in all that it promises, and obeyed in all that it requires.
God
There is one true God, the creator and sustainer of all things, who exists eternally in a loving unity of three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The three persons of the Trinity are equal in substance, power and glory.
People
God created people male and female in his own image to know, love, and glorify Him. Because all people are created in the image of God, they are filled with dignity and worthy of honor and respect.
Sin
We believe that God created Adam and Eve in His image, but they sinned when tempted by Satan. In union with Adam, all people are sinners by nature—born opposing God, rejecting him, ignoring him, and rebelling against His rule and reign. As such, we are alienated from God, justly deserve God’s displeasure, and under His wrath. Having been separated from Him, we are without hope unless He graciously rescues us from our sinful condition.
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God—indeed God himself—incarnate, fully God and fully man, one Person in two natures. He was conceived through the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, was crucified, died, and was buried. He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven where he sits now at the right hand of God the Father.
The Work of Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ lived a perfect life and died a sacrificial and substitutionary death—dying on the cross as the perfect, all-sufficient sacrifice and atonement for the sins of all who will trust in Him, alone, for salvation.
Salvation Through Faith in Jesus
God sovereignly chooses people to redeem, according to His own grace, wisdom, and pleasure. The Holy Spirit gives those people a new heart, leading and enabling them to put their faith in Jesus Christ, receiving and resting on Him alone for salvation. Faith in Jesus is the only way to be saved from our sin and to be reconciled to God.
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit, in all that He does, glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ. He convicts people of sin, regenerates sinners, and in Him they are baptized into union with Christ and adopted as heirs in the family of God. He also indwells, illuminates, guides, equips and empowers believers to trust Christ, follow Him, and glorify Him.
The Christian Life
All aspects of our lives are to be lived to the glory of God under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. While good works do not and cannot make a person acceptable to God, authentic faith in Jesus Christ will always be accompanied by the fruit of being increasingly transformed in Christlikeness—loving God supremely and serving others sacrificially. With God’s Word, the Spirit’s power, and fervent prayer in Christ’s name, we wage war against our indwelling sin, the world, Satan, and the spiritual forces of evil. In obedience to Christ’s commission, we are to make disciples among all people, always bearing witness to the gospel in word and deed.
The Church
We believe that the true church comprises all who have been justified by God’s grace through faith alone in Christ alone. They are united by the Holy Spirit in the body of Christ, of which He is the Head. The true church is manifest in local churches, whose membership should be composed only of professing believers. The Lord Jesus gave his church two sacraments, baptism and the Lord’s Supper, which visibly and tangibly are signs and seals of His covenant of grace to His Church.
Jesus’s Return
We believe in the personal, bodily, visible, and glorious return of our Lord Jesus Christ to judge all mankind and to receive His people to Himself. The coming of Christ, at a time known only to God, demands constant expectancy and, as our blessed hope, motivates the believer to godly living, sacrificial service and energetic mission.
Response and Eternal Destiny
We believe that God commands everyone everywhere to believe the gospel by turning to Him in repentance and receiving the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that God will raise the dead bodily and judge the world, assigning the unbeliever to condemnation and eternal conscious punishment and the believer to eternal blessedness and joy with the Lord in the new heaven and the new earth, to the praise of His glorious grace. Amen.

A fuller statement of what we believe is expressed in the Westminster Confession of Faith (WCF), Westminster Shorter Catechism (WSC), and Westminster Larger Catechism (WLC). Together these three—known as the Westminster Standards—provide a historic, comprehensive, systematic summary of the teaching of Scripture.
Faith and Culture
Our faith and beliefs impact the way we live and operate in our world. Here are some selected position statements on faith and culture issues.
Marriage
Marriage is the original and foundational institution of human society and reflects the relationship between Christ and the Church. The divine design for sexual expression is within the commitment of marriage between a man and woman.
Sexuality
Human sexuality is a good gift of God but all of human existence, including our sexuality, have been deeply damaged by the fall of Genesis 3. Engaging in heterosexual activity outside of marriage and homosexual activity are condemned as sin in the Bible.
LGBTQ
As a church that believes in the historic Christian position on marriage and sexuality, we do not affirm homosexual activity or identifying with a gender different than one’s biological sex because we believe it is outside of God’s good and loving design for sexuality and manhood/womanhood. We believe all human beings deserve to be treated with dignity and respect as bearers of God’s image and promote the respectful communication of these biblical convictions in love.
Politics
As the church, our mission from Jesus is to make disciples of all nations, teaching them to obey all that Jesus has commanded in his word. We pray for our local and national political leaders and equip Christians to think biblically, apply Scripture to cultural and social issues, and live for Christ in light of those convictions. Our primary concern is to teach them to live first as faithful citizens of heaven, while engaging as responsible, thoughtful citizens in public life here on earth.
